Acclarent, Inc., a member of Johnson Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Marketing Manager, who can own the launch cycle of a product, market research (including regulatory reimbursement), sales product training, competitive intelligence, pricing, and product positioning and related activities needed to build a comprehensive market strategy and launch exceptional products.
Acclarent, Inc. is a medical device company in Menlo Park, CA that was established in June of 2004. The company is dedicated to the development of innovative devices providing new technologies to further meet the needs of ENT patients.
Acclarent's initial focus is on achieving the goals of sinus surgery with novel, endoscopic, catheter-based tools - Balloon Sinuplasty devices. Through the Balloon Sinuplasty technology and our Relieva® product portfolio we offer ENT patients another option to conventional endoscopic surgical technologies. FDA clearances for these devices were completed in 2005 and the products were commercially launched in the US that same year.
The Marketing Manger, performs sophisticated analyses to identify trends in practice for both ENT and referring physicians, technology, regulatory pathways, and patient behavior. Develops, analyzes and maintains competitive profiles for products and companies including literature resources. Makes independent decisions in order to remain ahead of competitor tactics.
Participates as a leader in cross-functional product development teams. Conducts on-going research to define market needs (includes interfacing with hospital personnel, surgeons, nurses, and sales representatives; surgical observation; and literature review) to develop and maintain product lines and affirm product success including pricing, positioning, performance and packaging. Takes appropriate action in response to market research, including revision of product strategies/tactics. Acts as Voice of Customer in all product development decisions. Develops detailed financial models to justify programs and projects. Makes recommendations to executive leadership regarding critical financial decisions. Creates and supervises marketing campaigns to support the brand and lead sales performance.
This person develops high-impact, long- and short-term product promotion strategies. Executes those strategies in conjunction with senior sales leaders. Assembles broad vision for sales support. Creates and rolls-out dynamic selling tools for driving sales performance. Leads independent contractors in support of sales strategies and tactics. Develops and manages new product introduction process, including written product proposals, project management and all launch activities. Builds strong relationships with customers to ensure brand awareness. Leads in developing long-lasting relationships with key opinion leaders in the sector. Develops monthly program and expense budgets. Ensures compliance with budgets from all involved players, including external contractors.
Develops all marketing communications materials and promotional items (sell sheets, brochures, give-aways, press releases, and training materials) for assigned products. Leads independent contractors and teams in development and roll-out of materials and programs. Distributes updates on products, the market, and competitive activities. Makes key recommendations to senior and executive leadership on critical, market strategies. Creates and maintains new product training and in-service materials for product and conducts product demonstrations to internal and external personnel as requested. Interfaces with senior training leaders to ensure expertise among worldwide sales and training teams. Provides technical product support as needed to assist with HCP customers. Coordinates participation at international trade shows, local workshops, meetings with surgeons and hospitals, sales meetings and participates as required. Performs special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree is required, MBA is preferred. Minimum 5 years of successful experience in marketing/sales required, medical device industry experience is preferred. Analytical skills in business, pricing, forecasting and PL. Outstanding, proven leadership and communication skills (written, group presentations, etc.). Ability to work closely with cross-functional leadership, especially in field sales. Ability to provide leadership in cross-functional team settings (RD, manufacturing, clinical, reimbursement) and with external customer groups (distributors, physicians, nurses, hospital administrators). Ability to develop and maintain a physician network, as well as related support activities (educational events, meetings etc.).
High potential for further promotional responsibility growth. 30% travel required. Will report into Director, Marketing.
