Eaton Corporation in Galesburg, MI has an opening for a Master Technician.
This position is responsible for supporting root cause analysis for problem solving efforts, setting up and executing tests, and organizing and presenting failure analysis results.
Essential Functions:
A. Define a problem and rapidly identify containment actions for emerging issues for mechanical and/or electrical systems.
B. Support root cause analysis / troubleshooting for both current product and new product mechanical and/or electrical systems issues.
C. Identify improvements to designs, assembly procedures, troubleshooting procedures or test methods.
D. Gather data through use of data loggers or troubleshooting tools and organize into a database or other usable format.
E. Perform basic data analysis through graphing, plotting, or basic descriptive statistics (mean, range, standard deviation, etc.).
F. Lead the problem solving process for moderately complex issues.
G. Set-up and execute vehicle-level or lab tests for current or new products.
H. Define, set-up, and verify measurement systems for design verification, root cause analysis, or performance testing.
I. Document results of testing or problem solving efforts in a clear and concise technical report.
Preferred:
• Commercial Driver’s License (Class A)
• Strong knowledge of transmission systems and failure modes
• Strong knowledge in vehicle electrical systems and failure modes
• Associates Degree in Engineering or Technology
• Minimum 7 years experience applying a technical trade
• Minimum 3 years experience in commercial vehicle field
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
• No relocation benefit is offered with this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Galesburg, MI will be considered for this position.
