Role Summary/Purpose
The material planner will monitor materials needed for short term schedules as well as manage longer term supply chain issues to ensure no disruption to plan operations. Internal title: MCL’s (part count doubles)

Essential Responsibilities
*Manage material flow for a portfolio of suppliers to maintain 98% product availability and 100% schedule achievement. Portfolio of suppliers will be focused on either sku/product family components/sub-assemblies Appliance Park Bottom Freezer Refrigeration Operations. * Ensure inventory quantities, e-packing slips and receipts are accurate and maintained in a timely manner. Resolve supplier issues and inventory surplus/deficits as required. *Work with quality team to ensure proper inventory coverage when parts are rejected from working inventory. * Improve material availability to support production and customer requirements through corrective actions for availability/span issues, improved supplier response times, transportation planning and inventory management. * Drive inventory reduction through improved material planning, supplier cycle reductions, work in process improvements, vendor managed inventory, etc. * Manage respective transportation and logistics costs to reduce inventory and drive year over year productivity. Manage other special projects as necessary. * Support plant/product variable cost productivity initiatives including material cost out, supplier moves, high volume productivity, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements
* BS Engineering (IE, ME or EE) or equivalent.* Materials experience.* Strong systems capabilities.* Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.* Customer focus, high energy and aggressive approach to issues.* Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.

Desired Characteristics
