This position is responsible for planning and implementing lean material flow concepts in North American DRX facilities, with primary focus in the American region.
The primary tasks include the coordination of activities related to material flow and structure planning that will ensure zero production downtime while minimizing costs to implement and maintain the supporting systems and concepts.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
· NAI3U0 representative for all plant site and layout related topics, including location of warehouses, production cells and quality areas
· Interface with Packaging Engineer regarding packaging dimensions, optimal lot sizes and any other topics related to material flow/structure planning
· Implementation and optimization of material flow systems to insure material availability and process efficiency (lean concepts). Scope will cover: receiving, storage and retrieval of material, delivery of finished goods, and shipping processes
· Monitor warehouse capacity via a space balance sheet
· Define material handler capacity by maintaining an overview of material flow routes assigned to each material handler
· Create work instructions and documentation to support standards in the field and project planning
