Job Description Position Summary: Gate Gourmet, a gategroup member, is the world's largest independent provider of catering and provisioning services for airlines and railroads. We serve more than 200 million meals a year to our 250-plus customers at more than 100 airport locations around the globe. We are currently looking for an Operations Materials Manager join our team based in Honolulu HI. Reporting to the General Manager within the Materials department; the Operations Materials Manager is responsible for maintaining production standards to meet customers requirements, which includes: scheduling, communication, productivity, labor controls and efficiency standards. Must ensure quality and customer service is maintained at the highest level on a daily basis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Ensures unit maintains production standards - Ensures Labor Controls are in place and are effective - Ensures interdepartmental communication occurs regularly - Assists in the development and training of subordinates - Works with management staff to improve performance of the unit - Prepares administrative reports as required - Responsible for safety, quality and compliance to customer specifications Education: - High School graduate or equivalent; some college preferred Work Experience: - Must have 3 years of supervisory/management experience, scheduling and financial acumen - In-flight catering experience is highly desired, or experience in a high-volume food service industry - Current or previous labor relations experience is a plus, but not required - Experience with menu design a plus. Job Skills: - Candidate should be comfortable with all levels of employees and have the ability to drive positive program change - Must have strong and effective leadership skills, and successfully manage staff assigned to liquor and equipment. - Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. - Ability to train others required. - Must have the ability to give negative and positive feedback to employees on a daily basis. - Excellent time management skills required. - Ability to handle multiple tasks without losing focus on priorities. - Strong organizational, analytical, communication and leadership skills required. - Must be innovative and have the ability to make changes to the operation as needed to further improve the work environment and unit performance. - Basic computer skills required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products preferred Communication Skills: - Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. - Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus. Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: - None Travel: - Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Environmental Requirements: - Regularly, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 10+ hours. - In a normal production kitchen facility there may be physical discomfort due to temperature and noise. - Must be able to lift, push, pull and move product, equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. - A rotating schedule of over 55 hours per week is typical. - Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
