Materials Manufacturing Engineer
We are currently seeking a Materials Manufacturing Engineer for a connector manufacturing company in Oceanside, CA. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: -Evaluates materials and processes used in manufacturing. -Advises, recommends, and consults others on testing procedures, processes and material selection. -Writes and develops all processes for evaluation of material and processes. -Performs root cause analysis of non-conforming product in support of quality and manufacturing departments. -Develops new manufacturing and assembly processes to meet increased production requirements of existing products and for new connector designs. -Analyzes and evaluates production problems with underlying material or process causes; recommends and sets up solution programs. -Writes, develops and modifies all test procedures, methods, and techniques for testing of materials or verification of processes. -Specifies test and procedures to be done on all raw materials. -Creates and maintains documents relative to materials and processes. -Maintains cognizance of the latest technical data available including improved processes, materials, completions, and products, in order to improve company products from the standpoint of cost, adaptability and appearance. -Interfaces with outside technologist and research personnel on the latest information and development of new material and processes. -Writes procurement specifications for all incoming material. -Interfaces with product engineering, quality and manufacturing as material technologist and consultants. -Recommends material to be used for connectors. -Evaluates and analyzes reuse of waste material in order to maximize material utilization. -Performs related and incidental work assignments as required. JOB REQUIREMENTS: -Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline, preferably Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Plastics -1-7 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
