Materials Planner
This position will be part of the materials aspect of the business and directly interface with the entire Material Department of our Southfield, Michigan client and external suppliers and all other Departments as needed. Functions Include: Loading and analyzing customer demand and advise management of possible risks Preparing customer demand forecasts Reviewing and responding on Ford DDL Organizing and maintaining the Materials Department files on paper and in the system Contracting vendors concerning material related issues Submitting obsolescence claims as required Reporting monthly measurables Generating supplier ratings Tracking inbound shipments Providing work instructions to the Materials Supervisor and Material Handlers Reviewing inventory levels to assure material availability Pulling, verifying, and reporting production Assisting with the processing and printing pay-as-built shipper, JIT, and reconciliation reports Assisting with the processing of defective material, returns, scrap, and miscellaneous inventory adjustments and printing related reports Interfacing with material systems for maintenance Reconciliations with the customer and suppliers Maintaining listing of current supplier contacts Updating customer contact listings as required Following ISO14001 and QS9000 / TS16949 procedures and processes Establishing suppliers and materials to meet customer needs and expectations Participating in the plant recycling programs Providing the leadership and direction essential to maintain the health and safety policy Evaluating the health and safety performance of subordinate supervisors
