MD FX/MD Change
Managing Director/Director based in London responsible for supporting the European activities and priorities of the Global FX Division, as well as taking ownership for key global issues and regulatory developments on behalf of the function.
The Global FX Division in responsible for;
- Promoting an efficient global FX market
- Monitoring new developments in regulations, policy and market structure
- Helping to develop market policy or best practice and facilitating consultation with key market participants.
- Building relationships with regulators world wide.
This key hire will take responsibility for;
- The coordination of global FX activities, including the administration and operation of the European activities of the Division.
- Understand and synthesize key aspects of legislation and regulation as it relates to the FX markets, emphasis will be on European regulation, but will require a solid understanding of global issues.
- Promote core messages on behalf of the Global FX Division as they pertain to key regulatory areas such as clearing, execution, reporting and other areas driven by G20 commitments and other legislation.
- In particular, responsible for driving the Divisions positions and interpretation in relation to EMIR and MiFIR/D – and understanding/facilitating and challenges as this legislation goes into implementation
- Identify opportunities and initiate projects that match the Division’s objectives and oversee their development regionally.
- Responsible for ownership of a number of committees; these include the Operations Committee and Market Architecture Group plus other working groups.
- Extensive engagement and interaction with members, regulators and other direct stakeholders in the region, responding to consultations and discussion. This is of crucial importance.
Key Competencies;
- Excellent knowledge of and exposure to financial markets, ideally within FX.
- Previous experience in both operational and front office sides of the FX market.
- Established/existing relationships with stakeholders (dealers and regulators) on a European basis.
- Sound technical knowledge underpinned by the ability to assimilate and articulate detailed/complex regulatory themes and impacts to key stakeholders and the wider external community.
- Previous involvement or exposure in some capacity (front or back office) to regulatory changes around clearing, execution, reporting
