MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (CATIA)
LOCATION: Thunder Bay, On
POSITION STATUS: Contract
START DATE: ASAP

SUMMARY:
Our client, a leading Engineering Firm, seeks experienced Mechanical Designers with CATIA 5 experience to join their team in Thunder Bay on a contractual basis.
DUTIES:
- Design of shells and/or the under-frame for structure and interiors of locomotives.
- Part proposal drawing: starting from rough design concepts up to detail/final drawings
- Responsible for all drawing information including: tolerance/fits, GDT specifications, dimensional stacks and surface finishes.
- Participates in engineering meetings and is fundamentally involved in the FMEA creation.
- Attends meetings with customers, with respect to design/launch reviews.
DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Strong structural/Mechanical background
- Good orientation in Catia V5 (very important)
- No limitations in business trips abroad (incl. US)
- Good communication skills (oral written EN)
- P.Eng or immediate P.Eng eligibility,i.e Engineer in Quebec
- Experience working in rail industry, also automotive or aerospace industry experience can be accepted.
