We currently have an exciting contract opportunity for an Engineering Technician in Nepsonset, IL . The Engineering Technician researches, designs, and details engineering drawings of all types using state-of-the-art Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, including AutoCad LT and Pro Engineer, while following the company?s and ISO 9001:2000 quality standards. This position is with a leading international developer, manufacturer, and supplier of innovations to improve the handling of bulk materials in basic industries. Responsibilities and prospects for professional growth for the Engineering Technician include: Produces engineering drawings to current standards. Enters and maintains part numbers and bills of material. Assists in creating work routings and drawing associations in VisualPdm. Researches and designs products per specific customer requests Performs engineering changes. Troubleshoots manufacturing and assembly problems. Creates proposals and sales drawings. Provides technical assistance with customers over the telephone. Initiates procedures which comply with OSHA / MSHA requirements regarding safety issues, use of safety equipment, material safety data sheets, etc. Visits job sites to inspect existing equipment and offers possible solutions using the company?s products. Documents or revises ISO 9001 procedures to ensure compliance with established standards. Attends Company and industry-related meetings, as required. Establishes individual goals which are aligned with the Company's business strategies and objectives. Functions as a contributing member of the department's team and other teams, as assigned. Assists the department in the accomplishment of the team's goals. Performs other duties as assigned Education and experience required for the engineering technician: Two-year certificate in design, drafting or equivalent.
