POSITION OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will be an important contributor to our Manufacturing Engineering Team. We are seeking a hands-on engineer who will improve and optimize our plastic molding capacity and efficiency throughout the manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will have a successful record of accomplishment working cooperatively with people to determine solutions to processing challenges, implement new tooling and equipment processes and develop specifications for new product introductions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
·Plan and execute manufacturing engineering projects which meet business and customer needs.
·Use technical and analytical skills to create new processes and improve existing processes.
·Work with and provide leadership for compliance to QS 9000 by writing process specifications, FMEA and DOE methods.
·Solve processing problems related to efficiency, capacity and /or customers demands by using a cooperative approach with other team members. Solicit input, develop consensus and action plans.
·Ensures processes are well defined, effectively communicated and accurately documented.
·Develops and implements cost reduction programs, utilizing Six Sigma methodologies to support business success.
·Supports product line transfers and process control implementation.
·Help to identify and develop high quality suppliers.
·Interface with technical talent as needed on all three shifts. Also interface with technical talent located in our international locations. Travel as needed to support product and process changes.

-BS in Plastics or Engineering required.
§Minimum of five years experience with plastic injection molding and/or extrusion processes.
-ISO 9000, QS 9000, or Six Sigma experience is required.
-Must have experience performing accurate engineering calculations related to product performance and process capability.
-Proven skill working with people to achieve objectives and create a teamwork atmosphere.
-Skill with establishing processing parameters and documenting processes for the operation.
-Travel as needed (10% estimated) to international locations to support technical needs and changes.
-Must possess Microsoft Office skills in a Windows environment. Experience with process control software such as Moldflow would be a real plus.
