Dominion Diagnostics, a national medical laboratory, has the following position(s) available at the North Kingstown, RI location:

Medical Billing/Reimbursement Specialist

Primary responsibilities involve handling of all components of insurance claims processing including (but not limited to) claims submission, payment posting, denial management, resolve disputed or rejected claims and insure proper patient billing for high volume of laboratory claims. Candidate must possess excellent investigation and analytical skills with proven positive outcomes. Must be able to manage A/R and reduce aged receivables. Candidate must have knowledge of billing guidelines for commercial insurance payers, workers compensation and state/federal programs. Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT coding and reimbursement methodologies is required. Candidate must be highly organized, have effective time management skills and be willing to operate as a team. Other responsibilities, including operating within the laboratory, may be required. Candidate must be willing to perform other duties as assigned. Working knowledge of Microsoft’s suite of applications is required.

Education Requirements:  Associates Degree or higher preferred. Formal training in medical billing, terminology, finance and customer relations required.

Special Training/Skills:  Prior knowledge of third party payers, workers compensation and state and federal programs is necessary. Must be articulate and professional. Candidate must have the ability to type 45 WPM and use 10-key accurately. Proficient computers skills are required. Must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes. Candidate must have excellent research techniques when utilizing Internet Explorer or other online tools. Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT coding and HIPAA standards are required.
