MENA Regional Head of Financial Institutions

The primary areas of responsibility for the role are as follows:

• Develop and execute a business development (sales) plan for assigned clients and prospects in-Market Report on and use market intelligence to capitalize on potential opportunities and to avoid possible pitfalls/manage bank country, and compliance risk;

• Build lasting, influential, consultative client relationships with key decision makers at all levels;

• Effectively manage country and counterparty limits to achieve targets;

Cross-sell by collaborating effectively with other Banking Wholesale groups (sales, product, operations, etc.) to meet revenue targets, execute business plans, implement new business, and retain existing business;

• Review/approve Credit Requests to Credit Risk Management/Administration (including preparing ROE/ profitability analyses);

• Effectively partner with other banking departments to ensure that client issues/problems are addressed and resolved in a timely manner; Develop and train staff;

• Conduct performance management process for all team members; Participate in annual budget planning process;

• Manage business within expense targets;

• Review and approve monthly expense reports and other administrative duties as required;

• Overall responsibility for several representative offices and/or GFI teams;

• Responsible for ensuring that the managerial and administrative functions related to managing an overseas office are properly executed;

Ensure adherence to the banks policies and procedures;

Serve as senior Banking representative for local authorities when necessary.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Demonstrable experience in correspondent banking or in Wholesale/Commercial banking relationship management with financial institutions and sovereign wealth funds;

• Solid management experience;

• Fluency in Arabic would be a plus;

• An ability to motivate, lead and develop a diverse group of team members to achieve outstanding results;

• Sales management experience required;

• An ability to discern exceptional performance in others and the ability to identify and develop potential talent;

• The ability to work closely with senior management in executing our strategic plan and vision;

• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of market dynamics, macroeconomic and political circumstances that could affect the banks business in region/countries of responsibility;

• Demonstrate in-depth understanding of GFI trade, payments, and deposit products and services and the ability to effectively communicate their application/benefits to clients and prospects at all levels including financial institutions and sovereign wealth funds in the MENA region;

Demonstrate in-depth understanding of counterparty and country credit risk;

• Demonstrate good understanding of debt capital markets and asset management products;

• Demonstrate basic understanding of the banks products and services and organizational structure to facilitate cross-selling efforts to GFI client base.
