Head of Global Cotton Trading Operations, USA
Our client, a global leading trading house, is looking for a Head of Trading for their cotton trading division. This position would be responsible for all global activity and managing a team in a number of locations.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Managing a global Cotton trading book and basis positions
• Manage spread trading and exposure
• Add commercial value through use of financial instruments and options trading
• Manage the margin and cash flow for global business
• Co-ordinate with colleagues and trading counterparties in range of global origins
BACKGROUND AND SKILLS:
The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in the commercial agricultural markets with both trading and risk management experience, whilst also having significant leadership qualities.
Required:
• A minimum of 10-15 years experience in the agricultural markets, ideally in cotton or a related product such as grains, oilseeds or edible oils
• Experience managing a profitable trading portfolio
• Exposure to both physical and derivatives trading
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. At ease working in multicultural environment and ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization.
• Highly self-motivated and looking for a challenging and rewarding role
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills – must be task-oriented and be able to work with tight deadlines and multiple projects.
• Professional presence and absolute integrity.
• Moderate levels of travel.
