Merchandise Planner Job in Jacksonville 32207, Florida US
Stein Mart is seeking an experienced Merchandise Planner to join our Corporate Planning Team. This position is responsible for allocating, distributing and managing merchandise inventory, and provides an exciting opportunity for decision making, business growth and advancement potential.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and achieve store level sales and stock plans by analyzing past performance, identifying sales opportunities, conducting penetration analysis and turnover analysis.
- Manage business results by partnering with Buyer to develop seasonal department and class plans and exit strategies, reviewing weekly stork to sales rations and overall business at class level, working with Buyer to review and update the open-to-buy, responding to changing sales trends, ensuring departments achieve plan sales, plan turn, plan markups, and plan markdowns.
- Allocate merchandise to stores by using MMS to allocate merchandise, creating allocations based on store plans and current business trends, utilizing company-defined profiles to allocate merchandise, allocating merchandise to new stores based on store plans, ensuring new store inventory meets plan.
- Manage basic replenishment system by creating model stocks to maximize opportunities, relating model stocks to fixture and presentation plans, ensuring timely approval of replenishment orders, working with Buyers to evaluate assortment performance for additions or deletions to the replenishment system merchandise.
- Evaluate store performance levels and manage inventory by reviewing sales and inventory at department and class level, evaluating store performance in relation to company trend, ensuring distributions reflect performance and trends, identifying over and under stocked stores, developing action plans to correct over/under stock situations, gathering information about Stores from Store Management, District Management, historical data and store travel, monitoring new store performance to ensure minimum inventory levels are achieved and maintained and that trending areas are funded.
- Contribute to strategic and seasonal planning by identifying competitive advantages for buying area by focusing the business, identifying opportunities and risks, working together with Planner to develop merchandise plans, offering ideas for divisional strategies.
- Organize workflow by planning and prioritizing your work based on critical factors, managing your time efficiently to ensure meeting deadlines, being self-motivated and comfortable performing multiple tasks, maintaining an effective information storage and retrieval system.
- Make informed decisions by using analytical thinking skills to identify potential problems and develop appropriate solutions, compiling and thoroughly evaluating all relevant information to include the input of others, making adjustments to plans and distributions based on analysis, using current and new systems to maximize efficiencies.
