Merchandiser / Product Coordinator - Consumer Goods

Salary: Circa £25k basic + bonus and benefits.
I am looking for an experienced Merchandiser / Product coordinator to join a well established, independent distributor of consumer goods. They have serviced the retail sector for nearly 20 years.
As a distributor they have built up an excellent reputation both for providing an individual tailored service to the retail customer as well as with the independent manufacturer that supplies the product in the first place.
This key role is to manage and enhance both of these relationships on a day today basis.
Through an experienced team you will work with the retailer, usually at Buyer level, to ensure stock levels are maintained, deliveries are on time and any problem are resolved.
You will also work with the suppliers to ensure you have the right product mix in the first place.
A lot of focus therefore is on your ability to maintain existing relationships and on your ability to exceed service levels that are already very high.
The successful candidate will need to have worked in a role where you have to manage a range of business critical relationships at both customer and supplier level.
You will also need good analytical skills - there is a lot of data to interpret and act upon. It will help if you have excellent IT skills too especially in Word / Excel.
If you have worked in a buying / merchandising role either for a retailer or supplying a retailer you will have a lot of the skills required.
