- Transition new products and process developments into Carpenter’s manufacturing environment.
- Identify and investigate new manufacturing technologies.
- Implement new or improved manufacturing methodologies.
- Implement process changes.
To qualify you must have a BS or MS degree in Materials Science/related discipline or equivalent experience combined with a minimum of 2-5 years proven technical experience in specialty alloys; a background in stainless steels or nickel-based alloys is preferred, and knowledge of forging is also desirable. Comprehensive knowledge of metallurgical principles, standards, methods, practices and equipment required. Six Sigma Training a plus. The ability to effectively manage metallurgical projects and teams is required and strong communication skills are a must. The ability to work independently and effectively with employees and customers at all levels is essential. Additional requirements include excellent problem solving, decision-making strong prioritization skills as well as PC proficiency.
