Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced project manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to work with a team of business analysts, software developers, system architects, testers, and trainers to develop an enterprise level system. The position is located in Baton Rouge. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Health IT, Health and Human Services operating unit, an organization that serves the IT needs of state and local governments.

The selected candidate will oversee and manage the development of an enterprise level system and serves as liaison between project management and planning, customer stakeholders, project team, and line management. You will be responsible for reviewing status of projects and budgets as well as managing schedules and prepareing status reports. You will assesse project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. You will also Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall management of the project and insuring that the technical solutions and schedules are implemented in a timely manner. The project manager will have primary responsibility for customer management. This individual should possess leadership and team building capabilities and have strong interpersonal skills. Must possess solid organization abilities and be a motivated, flexible team player. Some travel is required.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degrees in information technology or a related field

- At least 15 years of experience in project management for information systems

- Experience with IT Project Development Lifecycle

- Knowledge of Project Planning tools such as Microsoft Project

- Ability to communicate effectively with project staff and customers to solve complex issues

- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with and knowledge of human services programs

- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

- Understanding of systems design and development processes - Project Management Professional certification
