Title: Mid-level Front End Web/UI Developer
Location: Sterling, VA
Duration: 6 Month Contract to hire

 

Responsibilities:

·         Full cycle of JavaScript front end development. Includes deep understanding of JavaScript, HTML DOM, common JavaScript libraries, load optimization techniques, etc.

·         Implementing AJAX-driven interface. This includes extensive knowledge of web technologies such as HTTP, AJAX, and REST.

·         Maintaining a complex Java Script front end project. This includes the ability to structure Java Script code, delay loading and execution optimization

 

Qualifications:

·         Outstanding knowledge of JavaScript language

·         Extensive knowledge of jQuery

·         Proven experience implementing AJAX/REST-driven user interfaces

·         Thorough understanding of HTML, HTML5  and CSS

·         Ability to create cross-browser rich web applications

·         Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced development environment, and be efficient in problem analysis and resolution

·         Able to maintain composure and meet deadlines in high intensity fast paced environment

·         Ability and drive to think creatively and outside of the box

·         Work in a team environment with highly skilled developers

·         Maintaining a complex Java Script front end project. This includes the ability to structure Java Script code, delay loading, execution optimization

DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Front End Engineer to join the development team. In this capacity, you will write standards-compliant xhtml, css, and unobtrusive JavaScript to build world class web applications. You will work with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to create enhanced user experiences through your expertise in front end development

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Front End development/maintenance for our leading-brands.

·         Build standards-compliant cross-browser compatible web pages integrating with server-side logic.

·         Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers and usability engineers to refine the user experience

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

·         6+ years of work experience in general web application development, with 4+ years with front-end development

·         Advanced Javascript (including DOM, object-oriented Javascript, Ajax, JSON, events, callbacks) and well-demonstrated XHTML/CSS

·         Advanced knowledge of jQuery

·         Comfortable working in an agile development cycle environment

·         experience integrating front-end code with JSP, JSTL and taglibs or other back-end languages.

·         Knowledge and experience with XSLT

·         Experienced with version control (SVN preferred), content management methodologies

·         Solid understanding of web/usability/accessibility standards

·         Excellent troubleshooting skills

 

DESIRED / BONUS SKILLS:

·         Experience with large consumer facing CMS migrations, Adobe DAY and CoreMedia a plus.

·         Extensive knowledge architecting Front-End frameworks.

·         Knowledge of web application lifecycle, MVC and other design patterns

·         Experience with unit and functional test cases using Selenium.

·         Exposure to RD and rapid prototyping
