Job Description:

IntelliDyne, LLC is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to assist us on our direct contract with DoD (Department of Defense). The qualified candidate will assist us to facilitate the mission and meet requirements. The Systems Engineer will provide support to our client’s IT infrastructure. The environment supports users with workstations, Enterprise Servers, and network devices. IntelliDyne hosts the client’s Intranet, data and applications critical to the Department of Defense mission.

Responsibilities:

•Installs, configures, updates, and maintains Microsoft Windows servers for a DOD client in a large-complex environment. Functions as a mid-level Systems Engineer for Windows Operating Systems in a server-based environment.
•Implements complex hardware deployments, software upgrades, and significant projects.
•Performs problem management, isolation, and resolution.
•Replaces failed hardware; works with vendors isolate and resolve hardware problems.
•Addresses and rectifies System problems, works with Microsoft or other vendors as necessary.
•Maintains and upgrades automated scripts for application products to facilitate operational tasks.
•Monitors system capacity (CPU, memory, ports, disk space, etc.) and takes appropriate action to report and correct any issues.
•Coordinates with Project Management, Security, and Asset Management, Customer Service, and Helpdesk teams as necessary for problem support and project management.
•Participates in DITSCAP and internal scans, mitigates DITSCAP/DIACAP and internal findings, and launches security patches, IAVAs, and VM Mitigations as required. Installs and upgrades software updates and security patches. Maintains records in VMS, monitors signs of system intrusion.
•Monitors faults, performance, and capacity issues; prepares remediation reports and documentation.
•Reviews and analyzes daily reports and prepares periodic reports for network status and baseline performance; researches, identifies, and analyzes trends of utilization and errors, uses Remedy to document trouble tickets and keep track of issues and resolutions, establishes/recommends resolution strategies accordance with fault, performance, or capacity-related items.
•Maintains user and system account accuracy via MS Active Directory.
•Provides 24 x 7 support for MS Windows servers and environment, participates in rotating “on-call” schedule, and participates in monthly weekend downtime effort.
•In certain situations, may be required to function as a technical lead or supervise system engineers or others of equivalent or lesser seniority.
•Evaluates analytically and systematically issues of workflows and organization. Develops plans for appropriate corrective action.
•Ensures corresponding documentation is accurate and maintained.
•Conducts gap analyses as needed, and provides results and recommendations to management for review.
•Perform video teleconferencing room set ups to include audio and visual quality checks and conference/presentation monitoring
•Perform video teleconferencing trouble shooting, such as trouble shooting Tandberg equipment, audio and visual quality, ISDN and IP connectivity

Required Skills:

•Mid-level expertise in Microsoft operating systems (WIN 7, W2k3, W2k8), Active Directory, Domain Controller functionality, WINS; file backup systems, and government security practices.
•Good understanding of Networking (Cisco Switches; Routers; Firewalls; Cisco Security Products (VPN; NAC; etc.).
•Ability to solve complex systems problems quickly with little technical guidance, and develop automated corrective measures.
•Familiar with Blade servers, Virtualization (VMware) and Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies
•Understands paging and swapping, inter-process communications, file-system concepts (Inode, clustering, logical partitions), can use performance analysis to tune systems.
•Understanding of IP based platforms and addressing, DHCP, DNS, Cisco products and technology, client/server computing.
•Understanding of network monitoring systems, and security scanning tools (Retina, PGD).
•Experience in IIS and SQL that integrate with DoD PKI
•Demonstrate proficiency in Windows script programming (e.g. Windows Host Scripting, SMS Script, VBScript, PowerShell, etc), and working with automated workstation patch management and deployment tools (e.g. SMS, Ghost, Acronis, Persystent Enterpise, etc.).
•Aptitude to program in an administrative language, as well as prepare, test, and deploy scripts aimed at improving efficiencies or correcting problems.
•Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills; capable of interfacing with all levels of management, project managers, development engineers, Helpdesk team, and other technical and administrative departments.
•Skilled in trending chronic problems, engaging in capability planning, analyzing security events, as well as preparing the corresponding documentation.
•Ability to work under the direction of the IT Manager

Education Experience:

•Minimum four (4) years performing in a Systems Engineering or Systems Administrative role.
•Minimum three (3) years working in a Microsoft Windows environment.
•Minimum Three (3) years performing in a mid-level Systems Engineering role.
•A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or comparable experience.
•Must have CompTIA Security+ Certification
