Test Automation Engineer Job in Dublin, Dublin Ireland
Our client a major IT consultancy group is currently seeking to recruit an experienced Lead Automation Engineer within their client-facing IT services Team. The purpose of this role is to assist their client base in developing and enhancing their test automation capabilities. You will design, implement and maintain technical test solutions to support engineering practices, while assisting in the continuous delivery of quality software in a range of diverse industry sectors.

Principal Duties Responsibilities
- Design and implement test automation frameworks to meet client needs and support engineering practices.
- Manage and promote the usage of test automation tools.
- Planning and managing the preparation of the automation strategies for projects and product roadmaps
- Identifying automation value and efficiency gains across the existing technical infrastructure - Automation analysis of core components/systems
- Create and apply good engineering practices, coding standards and lead code reviews
Required Experience
· Experienced in the definition, creation and managing of automation frameworks, using functional and non-functional automation tools
· Coding skills in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, C#, C, C++, PHP, Ruby, Python, Perl
- Experienced in test automation tooling evaluation and selection (open source and / or commercial tools)
- Offers an in-depth understanding of testing throughout the product lifecycle, both at code-level (unit testing) and application-level (system testing)
- Strong analytical skills for defining/extracting automation requirements from multiple information sources
- Experienced in working with databases and a good knowledge of HTTP, Web and XML technologies
- Knowledge of progressive engineering practices and models Agile, Scrum, TDD and BDD
- Experienced in influencing engineering teams and requirements processes to ensure testability of deliverables
- Experienced in tailoring automation to maximise ROI in Agile and waterfall environments
- Ideally some team lead experience with the ability to communicate with vendors, clients and internal resources at all levels
