Middle Office Associate recruitment

The role
As a part of the Middle Office team you are not only responsible for the day-to-day Middle Office Operations but you will also oversee Middle Office improvement projects.
You will be responsible for re-occurring tasks as identifying, researching and resolving position-, valuation- and transaction-differences. Directly communicate solutions with traders and the maintenance of solid relationships with external suppliers and counterparties. You are continuously looking to improve processes in data quality, communication and overall efficiency.
You will have to work extensively with SQL and Excel to build new and enhance existing databases and tools, therefore proficiency in these programs is a must to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
- Identify process gaps and continuously improve on procedures
- Reconcile net liquidation to correctly determine positions and PL on a daily basis.
- Find and resolve breaks and directly discuss solutions with traders
- Document a standard set of procedures for the Mid Office team
- Act as an escalation point for difficult requests and queries with regards to settlements, delivery and corporate action.
- Management reporting and analyzing of costs
- Work closely with the risk team on Mid Office projects
- Build (SQL queries and Excel) tools in order spot breaks; missing trades, positions mismatches
- Initiate continuous improvements in data quality (e.g. by automation of quality checks)
- Compile management information regarding volumes, profitability, expenses, etc.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in a similar position.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (formulas, functions and macros) with SQL experience
- Strong numerical abilities and analytical skills
- Keen eye to spot and analyze valuation / position differences and the ability to find the cause through logical reasoning
- Take initiative to build new and innovative tools.
- Knowledge of Middle Office Processes, Cross border transfers, Settlements and Corporate Action.
- In terms of personality, eager, meticulous, keen to learn.
- Able to work in a stressful high pressure environment.
- Strong English communication skills.
