What you’ll do
The Middle Office Department is the key link between our traders and the clearing, brokers and exchanges. Middle Office’s main goals are to ensure that reliable information is maintained such as; Optiver’s data on positions for Trading and Risk Management, the monitoring of cash flow and positions at our clearings and control of our Trading PL reporting.
Your primary focus area within this role, as a Middle Office Manager, will be to manage a team of around 10 Middle Office analysts. Additionally, you will actively design, develop and implement new ways to enhance all Middle Office processes.
As Middle Office Manager you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the development and implementation of new processes and strategies designed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our Middle Office;
- Supervising, training and development of the team members (Performance Management);
- The cooperation between Risk, Finance, Tax, Legal and Middle Office;
- Monitoring Middle Office activities to ensure outcomes are achieved;
- Managing accurate administration of our cash and securities positions;
- The review and approval of financial (Middle Office) statements to external parties;
- Liaising with peers in North America and Asia-Pacific to coordinate global development and exchange best practices.
What you’ll need
- Academic degree in Finance/Accountancy/Business Administration;
- Minimum of 4 years managerial experience;
- Knowledge and experience of the financial markets, ideally regarding trading of financial instruments;
- Experience with clearing and settlements;
- Understanding of Middle Office / product control processes;
- Affinity with the trading business or highly motivated to learn the business processes;
- The ability to work in a very detailed and meticulous manner;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
- Excellent written and communicative skills in both Dutch and English.
