The Team Lead Account Analyst reports to the Supervisor and is responsible for quality control and workflow management working within a middle office service delivery team consisting of 3 to 4 other Team Lead Account Analysts. The candidate is responsible for the review of accounting records and performance of transaction processing in accordance with department policies and procedures, in order to meet client service levels.

The Middle Office team is responsible for providing the client (an Asset Manager) with accurate and timely accounting data on a daily basis. The Asset Manager will be executing trading decisions off the back of this data. Functions performed in support of this include some or all of the following functions: Custodian bank reconciliations (cash, asset and market value), break analysis, follow up and resolution of reconciliation breaks, daily and monthly portfolio valuation processes, account level pricing, cash management support, cash projection reports, end-client statement workflow and validation, new account set-up and ad hoc reporting.

Previous experience working in Asset Management Operations, an in depth understanding of the end-to-end workflow required to support a Portfolio Management Team, solid industry knowledge, and a firm grasp of equity, fixed income, foreign exchange, and derivative securities would be an advantage.

The Team Lead Account Analyst is responsible for identifying, resolving and escalating any issues that affect the accuracy of the Investment Book of Record (IBOR) within their team. The candidate will assist the Supervisor with the on-boarding curriculum for new hires, conduct on-the-job training and job shadowing activities. They will be responsible for the review and approval of daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting deliverables to the client(s). The Team Lead Account Analyst will also be assigned accounts and required to switch between reconciliation and processing functions, and supervisory functions, according to staffing and workload requirements. The incumbent will be assigned to special projects individually or in a team environment and will also be responsible for the documentation of operating procedures and periodic review of existing procedures. The candidate will be responsible for identifying and escalating potential risk issues as they relate to account activity and operational processes and procedures.

The Team Lead Account Analyst will be required to effectively interface with various global institutions within the financial services industry. The incumbent will interact with Custodian Banks, Asset Managers, Valuation Agents, Securities Lending Agents and Mutual Fund Administrators. The incumbent will be required to communicate and service the front office of an Asset Manager, including the trading operations and their portfolio research teams. They will also be required to effectively work with various internal functional teams and operational Centres of Excellence globally located in the Americas, EMEA and APAC.

Qualifications

Minimum experience, skills, certifications and academic background necessary to perform the position:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure within set deadlines. Works well in a team environment and individually. Ability to manage and supervise the team's workflow. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Previous experience working in Asset Management Operations strongly preferred.
