Mortgage Compliance Specialist Job in Raleigh 27609, North Carolina US
North State Bank has an exciting career opportunity for a Mortgage Compliance Specialist located in our North Hills Office in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Mortgage Compliance Specialist maintains comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements within the mortgage industry to ensure sound risk management practices in compliance with applicable mortgage and banking laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
§ Recommends and assists in the preparation of departmental policies and procedures.
§ Ensures the timely dissemination of compliance information and materials to mortgage department personnel.
§ Serves as a resource for mortgage-related compliance questions and issues to ensure departmental compliance with applicable regulations.
§ Ensures mortgage disclosures are current and comprehensive.
§ Conducts scheduled quality control reviews of mortgage files to ensure compliance with various procedures and regulations.
§ Ensures independent quality control audit of mortgage files are conducted in accordance with procedures and regulations.
§ Conducts a quality control audit of HMDA data and subsequently prepares HMDA file for submission.
§ Assists in preparation of both internal and external audits and exams.
Minimum qualifications include an associate’s degree and three or more years of experience in the mortgage industry with a primary focus on compliance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of real estate titles, deed preparation and closing documents is a must. Additionally, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong customer service orientation while demonstrating prioritization, organizational and multi-tasking skills with a sense of urgency is required. Computer literacy in spreadsheet, word processing, and Calyx or similar software is also required.
