Our client is a global organisation providing trade processing, valuations and independent data across all asset classes with an aim of reducing risk, improving operational efficiency. They have outlined the requirement for a senior Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator to join their exciting and growing organisation here in Singapore.
Reporting to the Global MS SQL Server Lead, the successful candidate will provide support for Markit's diverse SQL Server estate and contribute to new deployments and projects. This is a challenging role that provides exposure to SQL Clustering, Cloud architecture, and several versions of SQL Server including 2012. As the Senior DBA in the region you will be the primary point of contact for support as well as mentoring Junior DBA's to improve their skill sets.
To qualify, individuals must possess:
- University graduate or equivalent, preferably in a computing degree
- 5+ years experience as a Production MS SQL DBA
- Experience in performance tuning and problem troubleshooting
- Solid knowledge/hands on experience developing/maintaining OLTP and Warehouse environments, including VLDB and BI stack
- Understanding of Ms SQL security and user management
- Solid Experience of Ms SQL High Availability and disaster recovery features
- Solid Experience of SQL Replication support
- Excellent Communication skills
- Commercially minded / Good business knowledge
