We are currently seeking an Implementation Consultant to join our Analytic Solutions, Services and Solutions Team in Beijing, China.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

MSCI is seeking an Implementation Consultant in our Risk Analytics Services and Solutions department. The Implementation Consultant will work with clients in EMEA region across all our market segments, including banks and brokerages, hedge funds, asset managers, wealth managers and pension plans. The Implementation Consultant will support the Implementation Team in EMEA, coordinate all work efforts internally and work with the client throughout the on-boarding process, which is organized as an implementation project, and which results in a solution in which our risk products are integrated into the client’s investment process. The Implementation Consultant will work on several client on-boarding projects simultaneously. The Implementation Consultant will work on virtual teams, along with a portfolio data analyst and a risk consultant, dedicated to the clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support multiple client implementation projects with durations that range from one month to one year, starting with the pre-sales effort and ending with hand-off to client services and operational support

• Adhere to client implementation best practices and contribute to improvement and refinement of same. Suggest areas for future improvement of client implementations: product, process, team and service

• Take initiative to improve one’s own business, product and technical knowledge

• Work in virtual teams with participation from members of other groups, such as solutions management product management, development, data operations and client coverage, and support teams that span multiple geographical locations

• Answer implementation questions that arise during pre-sales and contract negotiations and make recommendations based on likelihood of success

• Viewed as a subject matter expert in integrating our risk and performance products within client's investment process

• Define and communicate scope of implementation, steps necessary for successful completion, project milestones and timeline

• Define and communicate clearly the roles and responsibilities of MSCI, the client and any third party contributors in the implementation. Encourage a sense of team among all the contributors for overall success

• Keep all contributors informed of deliverables, expectations and changes to plan and track progress along the timeline

• Diagnose and solve problems as they arise during the implementation and follow up with client to confirm resolution

• Manage expectations of challenging clients

• Be the driver who brings implementations and issues to successful closure

• Be flexible on working hours (can work during 12pm – 9pm) to cover EMEA market

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good understanding of financial products is required: equities, fixed income, derivative products and financial risk management

• Understanding of portfolio management theory and risk management techniques

• Strong communication, organizational, negotiating and analytical skills

• Project related experience implementing front or middle office financial software and/or solution is a plus

• Experience in client-facing role and international experience in the financial service industry

• Self-reliant, detail-oriented and a fast learner

• Excellent in team work and collaboration

• Knowledge of information technologies is preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably with Financial Engineering/Financial mathematics/Quantitative Finance focus; CFA or MBA/Masters preferred

• 2012 Graduates who are able to start internship in Beijing ASAP are welcome.

• Fluency in English
