Business Unit Overview:
BlackRock Multi-Asset Client Solutions is responsible for delivering cross asset class solutions to BlackRock clients worldwide. BMACS team consists of 165 investment professionals located in London, San Francisco, New York, Sydney and Zurich. BMACS has specialist expertise in Fiduciary Management, Asset Allocation, Manager Selection, Advisory and Liability Driven Investing.
The BMACS EMEA Client Strategy team is responsible for the development of multi-asset solutions for Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension plans, and representing these solutions to internal and external clients including investment consultants, existing clients and prospects. The universe of solutions includes liability hedging strategies and bespoke multi-asset solutions. The team also provides insight on strategic asset allocation decisions and is centrally involved in the firm’s thought leadership agenda. Critical to the success of the Client Strategy team is the maintenance of strong relationships with the Global Client Group who are responsible for managing and developing BlackRock’s client relationships and the Global Consultant Relations team who are responsible for maintaining BlackRock’s relationship with investment consulting firms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic investment advice to clients and prospects across the LDI, multi asset and risk management spectra. Contribute to development of articles and thought pieces for internal and external distribution on topical investment issues.
- Engage with current and potential clients and investment consultants to identify the investment challenges they face, and present credible multi-asset investment and risk management solutions that meet those needs.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of BMACS suite of multi-asset strategies, and solutions, and the products managed by other investment areas within BlackRock.
- Understand and articulate the commercial merits of solutions proposed, and develop appropriate pricing structures.
- Build strong relationships with internal BMACS clients including the Global Client Group and Global Consultant Relations team, and external clients.
- Leverage the knowledge of and develop strong relationships with product experts within BlackRock to facilitate the creation of superior investment solutions.
- Work closely with GCG to aid in identification of new investment trends, and to highlight new BMACS products and solutions.
- Contribute investment insight and ideas to enhance existing or develop new investment capabilities, and assess commercial merits.
- External engagement, including educational sessions for clients
Knowledge/Experience:
- Experience in multi –asset investing for institutional clients, including physical and derivative based investment strategies.
- Exposure to LDI strategies and trends, with particular reference to derisking strategies. Fixed Income knowledge an advantage.
- Evidence of client and consultant engagement.
- Strong team player
- Advanced degree in finance, economics or a scientific discipline, or evidence of numeric capabilities. Progress in or achievement of FIA or CFA qualification preferred.
