As 2013 kicks into gear a number of opportunities exist within the financial services sector. The Australian economy remains pretty resilient and the Australian banking sector is one of the most capitalised in the world.
Opportunities exist in a range of prestigious financial institutions from Group Strategy functions to Business Unit Strategy roles across the breadth of industry verticals from Wealth Management to Insurance banking.
The key demand points are:
Manager Level - $90-$120K Base Plus Super and Bonus - Typically you will have 3 to 5 Years recognisable management consulting experience either gained in a consulting firm or an internal strategy team within financial services.
Senior Manager/ EM Level - $140-$180K Plus Super and Bonus - Most likely that you will have between 5 to 10 Years experience with FS experience being essential and experience gained in a Tier 1 or Boutique consulting firm also a priority if not substantial in house FS strategy consulting experience will be considered.
GM Level - $200-$250K Base Plus Super and Bonus. Same background as Senior Managers with 10+ Years experience and experience leading teams and projects.
Candidates will be considered from overseas but will need to be an exceptional fit to the respective role to trump a local candidate. You must also be able to provide a genuine commitment and reason for wanting to re-locate to Australia. Please note that 80-90% of these roles will be filled with someone with a Tier 1 or boutique strategy consulting background and experience in financial services, if this doesn't match your experience you will be unlikely to secure an interview.
