National Manager of Promotions Job in Providence 02908, Rhode Island US

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for consistent execution of promotional venues.  Works with Supplier Relationship Management team and Inventory Planning and Replenishment teams to develop and execute a promotional calendar and business plan for the growth of the category. Communicates and implements promotional programs (pallet programs, hot buys, spiffs, division deals) and coordinates promotional marketing tools with sales.  Analyzes the numbers to develop appropriate strategy and review with category management team to meet the company’s objectives for gross profit and maximize promotional potential.   Monitors promotional programs and coordinates execution (buying, receiving shipping) with appropriate departments and communicates any issues to Sales, Inventory planning Replenishment and Supplier Relationship Managers.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES: 

 

The Customer Promotions Manager is a key point of contact, within UNFI regionally or nationally, for customers and supply chain.Provides direction and communication to Supplier Relationship Management  team for approval for presentation to all members of sales and operations regarding promotions, marketing materials, holiday’s, pricing, competition, etc.

 

·         Works with all areas of the company to communicate issues or concerns with regards to promotional programs,

·         Communicates with all areas of the company any issues as it relates to batch billing, late arrivals, etc.

·         Prepares promotional calendars target lists in conjunction with Retail Category Manager input for presentation to customers and sales.

·         Participates with Supplier Relationship Managers is supplier meetings to review deals, product mix, concerns opportunities, etc. as it relates to targeted promotional activity

·         Gathers information (price, cost, what to promote, etc.) for supplemental books

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

·         Four year college degree or equivalent.

·         Five years related experience.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

·         Excellent understanding of market penetration strategies, market development techniques, and market segmentation strategies, coupled with a high level insight to retailer trends and consumer behaviors.

·         Excellent analytical skills and high level proficiency interpreting data.

·         Excellent understanding and knowledge of promotional techniques, protocols, pricing strategies, distribution channels, and competitive set

·         Math, financial analysis, deductive reasoning, economics knowledge

·         Effective verbal written communications

·         Planning, organizing, prioritizing and follow through

·         Computer skills and knowledge of necessary computer software programs/system
