.NET Developer recruitment

UBS is a leading global financial services firm. Our Investment Bank is one of the world’s top global investment banking and securities firms, providing a full spectrum of products to institutional and corporate clients, intermediaries, government and hedge funds worldwide. 

You will be based in London working as part of the Equity IT team, predominantly on our strategic portfolio reporting, construction and optimisation product.

The product is at an exciting stage in its lifecycle, and is undergoing a number of core architectural enhancements which you will be expected to contribute to from day one.

You will be a strong communicator who enjoys working in a team of highly capable developers and challenging business partners. You will have experience of working in an agile environment, be confident in presenting your latest work, identifying bottlenecks and technical challenges, and be familiar with continuous build technologies.

It is essential that you are able to take requirements, break them down and be able to apply them to a large codebase with a minimum of technical assistance.

Requirements

• You will be an expert in c#.net, the .Net framework and associated technologies
• A strong emphasis on software design
• Experience of continuous build environments
• Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
• Direct experience with Oracle 10g and above and/or SQL-Server 2008 and above
• Excellent proven analytical, numerical, communication , teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrable understanding of Object Oriented design and development, knowledge of UML modelling
• Ability to multi task and schedule workloads according to project priorities
• Must be highly effective working cross cultures and business groups
Able to foster teamwork and a collaborative, learning atmosphere in the team
• Must have strong drive and commitment to succeed
• Understanding of software development and the software development lifecycle in a complex environment
• Have experience working using Agile development frameworks, such as Scrum
• Experience in Asset Management is preferred
• Relevant .NET certification desirable
