The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining the LAN and WAN operation infrastructure. Such responsibilities will include: Exchange Administration, system upgrades, system documentation, daily administration and problem resolution, as well as assisting staff and users in problem resolution relating to hardware, software, and communication issues. Participate in the design and planning of the infrastructure to support new applications and technologies and thereafter play a key role in the monitoring and maintenance of such tools.

Areas of Responsibility

•         Interface with users, programmers, and leadership team to research, evaluate, prioritize and direct network projects.

•         Plan, manage, implement and troubleshoot corporate and data center infrastructure environments.

•         Work closely with outside network operations vendor to ensure 99.9% uptime.

•         Work with outside vendors and consultants to build, configure, maintain, and test complex server environments.

•         Monitor all server infrastructures.

•         Oversee the preparation and maintenance of necessary documentation, including configurations, backup, and disaster recovery.

•         Manage employee technology support requests.

•         Software license tracking and purchasing.

•         TCP/IP services including but not limited to routers, firewalls, switches, load balancers, DNS, DHCP, and SSL Certificates.
 

 

Requirements

 

•         5-7 years experience as a Windows Network Administrator or Systems Engineer.

•         A familiarity and/or working knowledge with Juniper JUNOS and F5 BIG-IP products is beneficial. 

•         A familiarity with streaming technologies is also beneficial. 

•         Experience within a start-up environment, and/or a high-growth business is essential and experience in a mature, stable environment is advantageous.

•         Understanding of how to operate in an environment with competing priorities and limited resources.

•         Excellent oral and written communication skills.

•         Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill including high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.

•         Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team 

 

Operating Systems and Server Technology Requirements

•         Windows Server 2003/2008/2008 R2 and Windows 7

•         Virtualization with Hyper-V and VMware

•         IIS6 an IIS7 configurations and troubleshooting

•         Clustered SQL server environments

•         SAN technologies, iSCSI, MPIO, network interface teaming, and QoS

•         Active Directory, Exchange 2007, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, WSUS and VPN configuration

•         VOIP systems, preferable ShoreTel

•         System monitoring using SNMP and NetFlow; preferable ipMonitor, IBM System Director, NetFlow Analyzer

•         Intrusion detection systems

•         Blackberry Enterprise Server

•         Dell HP hardware
