Network Engineer Job in Herndon 20171, Virginia US
The Network Engineer will have senior level/tier 3 hands on responsibility for our development and production networking environments. The incumbent will perform installation, configuration, troubleshooting and operational support of all network components including security appliances and devices.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Position may be required to perform other duties as required.
- · Designs, architects and provides support of Routers, Switches, Security Solutions, VPNs, Load Balancers, and Network Management Solutions across LAN/WANDesigns,
- · Architects and provides support for network security by managing firewalls, IPS and ACLs on all network equipment
- · Maintains manages IP network design and allocation
- · Provides recommendations on architectural changes and design enhancements to the network infrastructure to improve reliability and performance, reduce cost, and accommodate projected growth
- · Maintains detailed knowledge of company network standards and the overall regional and global network environments
- · Responsible for configuring and maintaining a proactive Network Monitoring System leveraging existing tools in order to maintain and track Network metrics
- · Performs ongoing network fine tuning, upgrades and enhances to optimize Network performance, availability, stability and security
- · Provides technical expertise to support the implementation and modernization of client server and network systems as well as the applications they support
Qualifications:
- · Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or relevant technical degree
- · 6-8 years Network Engineering and administrative experience·
- · MRTG, Nagios or other open source NMS reporting tools a plus

- Must live within a commutable distance of Herndon, VA.
