Network Engineer recruitment
Job Description:
Interactive Data is searching for a talented Network Engineer!
This candidate will be responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of commercial and in house network management tools on both Windows and Linux platforms.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Gathering and implementing security network requirements.
- Evaluating new/upgrading network equipment.
- Installing and supporting new server hardware and software.
- Maintaining server systems – software and hardware.
- Allocating network resources.
- Managing IP addresses.
- Keeping internal networks running.
- Developing and implementing security standards for the network infrastructure which includes but is not limited to routers, switches, servers, firewalls, user access and remote access.
- Evaluating, recommending, implementing and utilizing server and network management and monitoring tools.
- Provisioning remote office LAN, Co-location Sites, and remote connectivity.
- Coordinating and deploying of multi-vendor networking gear.
- Providing project management for Network Team projects.
- Developing, improving and setting the standards for network documentation, practices and procedures.
- Working with and developing LAN network monitoring tools.
- Participating in rotating "on call" schedule with other members of the team.
- Maintaining Netscreen Firewalls
- Assisting with various Network Engineer Level I responsibilities as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent).
- 3+ years of experience with IT/Campus/Local area network management (switching, VLANs, Multicast Networks).
- Experience with Cisco Routers Switches preferred but not required.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (including Layers 2, 4 - 7 content switching).
- Must have good LAN troubleshooting skills (net. device and system level). Thorough understanding of network security aspects, common problems and solutions (ACL, firewall filtering, and VPN).
- Experience with network change management control tools and policies.
- Experience with several Network Monitoring and other network administration tools.
- Experience with Unix/Linux/Windows administration is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience and flexibility regarding on-call responsibilities.
- Creative problem solving abilities.
- Network certifications CCNA, CCNP, or equiv. training/experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSPF/EIGRP/BGP knowledge is a plus.
