Network Sr Manager
Description
Essential Job Functions
- Reviews, analyzes and approves network service plans; manages implementations and installations to ensure customer business needs are met.
- Ensures compliance standards are met for testing, turn-ups and maintenance of backbone voice and/or data networks.
- Manages project teams of engineers and technicians to ensure the reliability and availability of voice and/or data networks.
- Manages the development of the network architecture, planning, implementation, creation of operational procedures, security audits, performance monitoring and reporting to ensure optimal business networking solutions.
- Defines and develops methodology to ensure compatibility of software and hardware products at customer facilities.
- Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates and rewards employees including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines.
- Prepares, recommends and oversees development of operating and personnel budgets. Monitors spending for adherence to budget plans, develops and recommends variances. Performs and/or oversees budget analysis.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or related field preferred
- Twelve or more years of networking experience
- Certified Network Engineer (CNE) certification preferred
- Nine or more years of supervisory or management experience included
- Experience working with voice/data communications equipment and transmission
- Experience working with network planning policies, procedures, and standards
- Experience working with networking software and hardware infrastructures
- Experience working with network systems and networking principles and practices
- Experience working with department budgets
- Experience working with security systems and implementation procedures
