Network/Boundary Protection Engineer to support the Infrastructure Services Crew on the JRDC program. Position is located at Schriever AFB, CO.
IS Crew Network/Boundary Protection Engineer for the JRDC program to support the Missile Defense Agency IT Task Order. Candidate will perform network engineering (designing, drawing, connecting, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining), monitoring and administration functions associated with the Network Operations Center and Information Technology/Information Management department. Provide design, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of the enterprise network and boundary equipment. Provide initial analysis and troubleshooting on issues identified by the Network Monitoring Systems. Provide troubleshooting support to end users on the network as well as other general networking tasks. Generate/provide status reports, provide network anomaly analysis, and develop engineering redlines as needed to support network maintenance actions, engineering changes/upgrades, and security vulnerabilities. Provides technical analysis in data network planning, systems administration, engineering, design, and using implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to network problems. No relocation available.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Communications Engineering, Information Systems Management, or related field. Must have at least eight years of applicable experience. Must have experience with networking (LAN/WAN), Boundary Protection equipment (i.e. Cisco/Juniper Firewalls, IDS’s, Microsoft ISA) and familiarity with Remedy Action Request System. Must be able to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced, environment, have good communication skills, work well in a team environment, have good interpersonal skills, be a quick learner, and have a positive, can-do attitude. Must be able to follow documented processes and procedures, and provide feedback to update as necessary. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and willingness to learn new technologies. Security+ certification, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire. Top Secret clearance.
