New Business Sales to Hedge Funds – “Cutting Edge” Equity Research Technology recruitment
Excelsior has been engaged to conduct a search for this innovative and dynamic start-up organisation. Our client is an exciting and high growth technology research provider experiencing double digit growth this year with the launch of a leading edge solution aimed at equity research analysts and portfolio managers within the hedge fund community. With no direct competitors this company has found a niche with a unique and compelling proposition allowing hedge funds to quickly capitalise upon stock opportunities. Following the on-boarding of some major hedge fund names this year they are further expanding their sales force to meet global growth ambitions by ensuring their tools become industry standard for use in stock research for hedge funds. Hence they now require several aggressive new business hunters to make the most of the market opportunity they now have.
Appropriate applicants need to be able to show:
- Experience selling to the buy side, but hedge funds in particular with a good network / rolodex of contacts within the hedge fund community. Experience and knowledge in the area of stock selection / equity research would also be particularly beneficial.
- A proven track record of hitting / exceeding new business sales targets. Must be recognised as a sales hunter, with the ability to establish the first contact, and manage the sales process end-to-end with multiple deals to juggle.
- The ability to pick up solutions which are new and unique in the market.
- You may be working for a software company, financial information / market data vendor, research provider or financial institution (equity sales / research sales), and will be comfortable with closing multiple deals a month (5+) as opposed to larger high value low volume enterprise deals. Average deal values for the company are c$10-20k for an annual licences.
- Interest in working for a high growth start-up with realistic global ambitions.
- An articulate, consultative and confident sales approach conducive for selling to hedge funds (portfolio managers, heads of research, research analysts).
- Have the personal motivation and ability to contribute to a dynamic and entrepreneurial team culture.
