New York – Prop trading – Quant Research
Are you a part of a team or an individual with a developed strategy or strategies? You may be employed or have left an organisation and need some help in capital-raising. My client is a relatively discrete, private investment / trading organisation with offices throughout the world. The organisation has access to a very large pool of capital and has a proven record over 10 years of setting-up and helping to support individual traders and PMs, seeding start-up hedge funds, incubating start-up hedge funds and providing capital for a number of different types of trading strategy and style.
The only pre-requisite is that you can detail your trading track record –have at least two years of realised (as opposed to purely backtested) PnL, Sharpe Ratios, Max draw-downs etc.
The process of interviewing and assessment involves discussions with the firm’s partners who will detail the platform (prime-broker relationships, legal, risk, trading execution, latency, connectivity, market data) and engage in discussions regarding your strategy(s) and requirements. Discussions will then focus more on credibility and track record and see whether jointly, both parties can come to an agreement that works. Typically, 3-4 meetings are required, followed by some meetings regarding legal side of things. Intellectual property is obviously fully respected and the company is entirely formulaic in terms of split on cost, revenue etc.
