Summary:

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the development and delivery of initial and ongoing technical and professional skills training programs, with emphasis in the VA Medical Management department and in the Plans

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Design and develop instructional materials.

2. Develop, implement and deliver training programs.

3. Research training issues.

4. Evaluate and analyze effectiveness of training.

5. Utilize appropriate methods, techniques, and equipment.

6. Work closely with business partners.

7. Conducts needs analysis studies and confer with leaders to determine training needs.

8. Develop programs designed to address needs.

9. Support business operations.

10. Liaison with various departments to design and deliver very specific product and training programs.

11. Partner with plan associates to ensure training and development needs support key business objectives.

12. Form partnerships with business unit to ensure training and development needs are effectively met while seeking out and implementing cost savings and efficiencies.

13. Provide feedback to business partners regarding challenge areas to improve productively and procedures.

14. Investigate available training methods and procedures to determine the most effective manner in which to conduct programs.

15. Monitor key business indicators in order to identify training needs.

16. Maintain records on the progress and performance of those involved in training.

17. Consult and utilize cross-functional, multilevel resources.

18. Monitor effectiveness of programs and progress of trainees.

19. Design communication tools to interest, motivate, and retain associates.

20. Provide a professional, creative, energetic, and thorough training experience for associates.

21. Present technical information effectively in a classroom setting or one on one in a manner that is easy to understand, more interested in a top notch trainer than a technical expert.

22. Use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to guide trainees in the exploration and utilization of the material.

23. Maintain ongoing communications with clients, facilitators and team.

24. Principal liaison to medical department.

25. Other special projects and duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education

Required:

' Regional positions: Bachelor's degree required

' Virginia positions: College degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:

' Regional positions: Master's degree

' Training experience

Preferred:

' Case management experience or certification desirable

' Training experience, preferably in health care

' Technical background considered a plus

Specific Technical Skills

Required:

' Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred:

' Healthcare information systems experience highly desirable.

Certifications or Licensure

Required:

' Regional positions: RN

' Virginia positions: LPN

Preferred:

' Virginia positions: RN desirable
