Parkside Ob/Gyn is a solo gynecology physician practice located in southeast Denver.  We are looking for an experienced nurse, LPN, medical assistant who is dependable, provides excellent patient care and enjoys working in a team environment in a small, friendly medical office with well-established patients.

The candidate is responsible for the flow of patients through the office after check in up to departure or procedure scheduling.  The person works directly with the physician and serves as the liaison between the patient and the physician for establishing and maintaining quality patient care. The candidate will be in charge of all back office functions including preparing for procedures,  scheduling surgeries, blood draws,  injections, ordering labs, prepping rooms, ordering prescriptions and ordering supplies.  We use an EMR (Athenahealth) and candidate must be knowledgeable with EMR’s.  You must have at least 3-5 years of experience  in ob/gyn, preferably in gynecology. This is a leadership position and the proper candidate will be mature, a good multi-tasker, and have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.   This is not an entry position.

DUTIES:

1.  The candidate will run all phases of the back office and clinical operations.
2. Takes and records routine elements of systemic review elements of patients history; elements of present illness. Take vital signs of the patient, which include weight and measurements, temperature, pulse rate, respiration, and blood pressure.  This will all be in an electronic format.
3. Places patient in the examination room and prepares patient for appropriate examination. Assist physician with the treatment of the patient in the exam room and office.
4. Assist the physician in all in-office procedures including colposcopy, LEEP, Essure, Novasure, and other general office procedures.  Maintain and set-up surgical equipment.
5. Schedules surgeries with all out-patient and in-patient procedures at local hospitals and surgery centers.
6. Makes entries into medical records, retrieve information from medical records.
7. Assists receptionist, when necessary, in making appointments, calling patients, locating charts, and filing reports in the medical chart.
8. Inventories and originates order for medical and drug supplies; speaks with pharmaceutical detail representatives regarding samples and patient education materials.
9. Maintains sample supply closet in an orderly fashion.
10. Keeps examining rooms clean and stocked.
11. Properly disposes of contaminated and disposable items.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by the physician/office manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation from  nursing school, RN or LPN and current certification is required. Three to five (3-5) years direct experience in ob/gyn office working with a physician in an office practice environment is required. This is not an entry position. Possess the sense of discipline to work in accordance with accepted medical standards. Possess the verbal ability to understand patient's medical records, physician's orders and medication orders, to be communicative with the patient and hospital staff. Possess the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients, parents, other employees, hospital staff, and the physician.  References and background checks required.
