Object orientated programmer- C++- systematic trading- US Asset Management- $250K++ recruitment

Our client is looking to appoint junior and C++ programmers for their systematic trading desks across their offices in the US. They are looking for candidates with strong technical skills.

The Firm

The company has a background across investment, strategy, hedge funds, private equity and structure finance are. They are looking to build upon their success across their different portfolios with the addition of a C++ object orientated programmer for their systematic trading desks across the US. Having such a global presence has allowed the firm to capitalise on their economies of scale, allowing them to provide the best possible infrastructure and technology on the market for the technology gurus that work for the firm.

The Role                                

Coming from a very technical background, be it academic or commercial, you will understand how algorithms work as well as be comfortable programming in various languages. The role will be a step up from what you may have done during your studies and focused around developing those core academic skills into the commercial environment. You can expect to work on data structures and data clustering projects, building signal processing and machine learning models as well as supporting senior traders and developers on various technical projects. You will work with scalable and distributed systems, design algorithms and generate signals using statistical inference techniques and data mining methods.

The majority of the firm’s traders and developers have come from Microsoft, Yahoo, IBM and other technical firms- this has led to a very research and technically driven working environment, with the majority of new ideas and technical innovations coming from within.

A key area of interest for the firm is candidates with strong C++ or C skills and having a strong academic background no matter what level.

The Profile

• Must have a strong academic background; BS, Msc or PhD from a top tier and well established institution in an analytical, scientific or engineering related subject.

• Good understanding of algorithms and data structures

• Must have strong C++ or C skills (object orientated programming)

• Ability to leverage your technical skills in a commercial environment.

• Technically advanced candidates are highly desirable.
