Office Management/Staff Officer Support

Support NGA/P's leadership communication needs by providing a variety of communications vehicles. Example capabilities include message ghost writing and editing, preparing the NGA/P internal newsletter, responding to NGA/P inquiries, crafting senior talking points, developing communication tool kits, and producing other communication vehicles in support of the implementation of the NGA/P Strategic Communications Plan. As a member of a team of government and contract personnel, provide expert communications support to the NGA/P and/or functional management leadership. Support long term and ad hoc communications team projects and tasks. Maintain flexibility to respond to changing priorities for Production and projects The communications team enjoys a special relationship with the NGA/P and/or FMX leadership, and members will often have opportunities to interface directly with senior leadership. Expert information and advice is expected at these updates. Support data gathering in support of communication needs. Support internal NGA and/or external NSG foras, such as the NGA/P Communications Forum, the NGA/P Staff Meetings, the NGA/P Senior Leadership forums, the NAPF, and NSMC, as necessary. In addition support NGA/P's participation in Agency level communication forums and events. Facilitate fact finding and evaluate and analyze results of communications effectiveness. Fact finding can include surveys, pulsing, and focus groups. Research state of the art- and best practices in corporate communications and evaluate research findings for potential application for NGA/P. Assist in the development of communication ideas, vehicles/mechanisms, and implementation. Support communications events for NGA/P and/or functional management leadership including, but not limited to: Town Halls, brown bag events, technical expositions, and NSG events. Assist in facilitating these events, as necessary, and provide feedback to event organizers. Explore, evaluate, recommend, and implement broader use and application of social software and collaborative capabilities to support NGA/P and/or functional management communications. Support NGA/PXC efforts to provide communications consultative services to improve internal and external NGA/P and/or functional management communications. Requirements: Detailed knowledge of NGA, NGA/P Directorate, and the NGA/P programs, products, and services. Basic understanding of the make-up of the NSG, the role of functional managers, and the relationships between NSG members and partners Basic to detailed understanding of the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community and their relationship with NGA. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Project/program management skills, including building, monitoring, assessing, and modifying communications plans. Strong data gathering and problem analysis/resolution ability. Communicating effectively both orally and in writing. Work cooperatively as a team member. Meet schedules and time frames consistently. Complete complex tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision. Essential Job Functions Understands elements of client financial decision-making; prepares business case (Business). Manages client expectations and balances the needs of the company and the client to ensure satisfaction for both (Relationship Management). Influences decisions and project direction at the executive level (Relationship Management). Performs consultative selling and leverages business through superior delivery skills, client relations and subject matter expertise (Leverage). Participates in proposal efforts and sales calls (Leverage). Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel (Leadership). Communicates in formal presentation settings including medium to large sized groups of key decision makers at the executive level; tailors presentations to needs and interests of the audience. Develops articles and white papers covering areas of expertise (Communication). Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred Master's degree in business administration or related field preferred Six or more years of consulting experience with management and/or operations strategy Experience working with CSC Catalyst and/or equivalent client-mandated methodology Experience working with client's mission, vision and key performance requirements Experience working with several business areas, industry segments and practice areas Other Qualifications Two to six years of additional relevant experience in one or more business or industry specialty areas Strong skills in business development and delivery excellence procedures Strong communication skills Ability to deal with and resolve ambiguity Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action, giving regard to the impact on both the client and the company CSC Ability to adjust personal style to different situations Willingness to travel
