OHS Officer

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this fantastic hands-on OHS opportunity has become available. The role is responsible for coordinating and managing the day-to-day Occupational Health Safety of the site.

You will be responsible for driving systems compliance throughout the organisation and providing assistance, advice and coaching to employees on the management of OHS systems, programs and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and industry best practice. Your diverse responsibilities will include but will not be limited to;

Responsibilities for the position

• Ensure compliance with legislation and industry best practice

• Provide training and guidance to site personnel in the implementation of OHS managements systems

• Assist with accident investigations

• Ensure necessary reporting is completed

• Ensure all changes to legislation, standards and codes of practice are communicated to stakeholders

• Ensure all employees have current certification, tickets and qualifications

• Implement and maintain hazard reporting

• Develop and maintain a risk management strategy and register and undertake risk assessments

• Other projects as required

The Person

Your previous OHS experience in a diverse environment will be the key to the door for this exciting role. You will have a pragmatic approach with the talent to get things done and to engage with others in this busy environment. An eye for detail and the ability to also see the bigger picture will see you succeed in this role.

Previous experience within a Human Resources environment would be highly desirable.
