Oil Gas Business Analyst in our Bakersfield, CA office.
Position Roles and Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for providing the systems and structures to assure quality data is available for the Technical team to accomplish their objectives. This will include working with the technical team, operations and the IT organization to document data definitions, data flows, business rules, and quality requirements for all data sets of interest to the team.
Additionally, this person will be responsible for the development and maintenance of exception based reporting tools, processing raw data from the various corporate, engineering and operation data stores into the information required to do daily exception based production and reservoir surveillance. It is expected that the Analyst will use these standard tools and corporate/asset data stores to replace existing excel and access systems.
The information analyst is also expected to mentor support staff to increase their OFM, OVS, SQL querying skills and general process knowledge.
Skills and Knowledge
- OVS, Visual Basic network and HTML programming
- Structure Query Language (SQL)
- MS Access
- Familiarity with cyclic steam reservoir and production data sets,
- Problem solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Experience/ Education
- Two to five years experience in data quality, application development or information management
- BS or equivalent in Computer Science
- Two years of Oil and gas experience
