JOB SUMMARY Responsibilities include a high level of proficiency and detailed knowledge of telephony operations, high speed internet and networks as well as experience building, implementing and troubleshooting call features, LNP, E911, and an in depth knowledge of Local Exchange Routing Guide and MSAG ANI/ALI requirements needed to support E911. This provisioning specialist is able to navigate the various translations tables of the Nortel DMS and/or CedarPoint voice switches, able to complete translations testing, verification and troubleshoot when building local trunk groups such as T-1 CAS, ISDN PRI and SIP Trunks. Proficient in the use of applications to activate numbers in NPAC (LT1 or SOA) and methods necessary to address conflicts, cancelled subscriptions and concurrence issues from donor LECs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION Navigate through translation tables, create trunk groups, read and comprehend translations verification tools utilizing Nortel or Cedar Point products for T-1 CAS and ISDN PRI. Effectively communicate with customers and external vendors in a courteous and professional manner. Perform line translations including SERVORD. Update network elements for CB High Speed Internet Services and data products. Effectively use personal computer and software applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Pro Com, etc.). Work flexible hours and support night or weekend work as needed. Build relationships and work as well with others to resolve problems and handle outside telephony requests. Perform other duties as required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A. Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Knowledge of telephony, VoIP, media gateways, IP Protocols including H.248 and Megaco, and voicemail servers Ability to use applications to activate numbers in NPAC (LTI or SOA) and methods necessary to address conflicts, canceled subscriptions and concurrence issues from donor LECs. Knowledge of E911 translations to include knowledge of the MSAG ANI/ALI requirements needed to support E911 Ability to troubleshoot both on-net and off-net translation issues that impact Charter´s network Knowledge of the functionality of a variety of PBX systems and ability to implement feature translations Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties Ability to prioritize and organize effectively Committed to excellence, demonstrating company values and policies, initiating action, accepting responsibility for results; and making quality decisions Knowledge of cable television products and services Proficient in ISDN PRI protocols such as NI1, NI2, 5ESS, with knowledge of PRI standards and features Proficient in T-1 CAS functionality including features and hunting Proficient in Trunk, ISDN PRI and SIP trunk translations, including DID/DOD, loop start/ground start and Knowledge of DMS Scripting Education (level and type) Bachelors degree in Business or Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
