Operational Compensation Delivery
The EMEA Compensation Benefits team supports one of the largest and most complex regions at Nomura. This position provides operational compensation delivery support to the Head of EMEA CB
There are also a number of exciting on-going and planned projects to work on over the next few years.
Role / Principal Accountabilities:
Ø Overall project management of EMEA operational delivery at year end
Ø Ownership of core year end compensation processes including bonus, salary, allowance and other cash instructions to payroll as well as employee statement production, checking and project management
Ø Ongoing quality assessment and assurance of EMEA compensation data in system through regular quality reviews and checks throughout year and in particular ahead of year end process
Ø Ownership of complex ongoing cash compensation instructions to payroll e.g. special payments, support of regional conditional compensation arrangements
Ø Key team liaison with HR Information Systems team, HR Advisory and Analyst team, Payroll and HR Service Centre on operational queries including data entry and standards
Ø Participation in, and support of, global operational processes including comp tool development and improvement, equity and deferred compensation processes and other core processes such as FX election
Ø Drive process improvement initiatives with goal of migrating ‘high-touch’ compensation processes to lower-cost BAU operational processes wherever possible
Ø Provide day-to-day support with general compensation and benefits activities for the EMEA Region, including queries from HR generalists, Payroll, Finance and employees regarding offers, compensation packages etc;
Ø Provide compensation support to any of the key business units in EMEA through year end as required
Ø Support other regional analysis and processes such as market data matching
Skills and Experience:
Ø Strong numerical and analytical abilities, potentially through MI or comp analysis role
Ø Understanding of year-end compensation processes in investment banking
Ø Understanding of payroll instruction and/or compensation statement production process
Ø Ability to extract data from corporate systems and manipulate / analyse data from multiple sources
Ø Comfort working with and analysing large volumes of data with accuracy and within time constraints
Ø Core compensation concepts
Desirable Skills:
Ø Wider knowledge of compensation concepts e.g. deferral approaches, hypo-tax calculations etc.
