Role Aim/Purpose:
This role is responsible for providing support to the Australia iShares Capital Markets team who maintain the broker-dealer/market maker relationships for iShares in the region.
Major Responsibilities:
- Ongoing specialist ETF activity:
- Ops market interface providing trading and settlement expertise with Primary Market create/redeem support and coordination
- Day to day interaction with APs to assist with creation/redemption orders
- iShares Online - support and rollout to brokers/liquidity providers
- Responding to day to day enquiries regarding the technical and operational features of the products, functioning as a centre of excellence and information for all things iShares
- Support for all implementation and trading issues
- Trading and market expertise to help clients
- Maintain Bloomberg chat and XL spreads snappers
- Ensure that knowledge extends ASX trading and settlement systems software
- Daily communication with PMs to ensure successful delivery/receipt of creation/redemption orders.
- Delivering clients excellent customer service to help maintain successful on-going relationships
- Ensure robust control environment with maintenance and execution of all iShares product policies
- Own review of documents for distributions, capital markets and look to make enhancements
- Develop and maintain close links with other BlackRock business functions and teams which form part of the new build and process to ensure timely and effective delivery of new platform and product
- Support the ASX - listed iShares through their lifecycle. This should include but not be limited to, an ongoing involvement with the legal/compliance/risk/operational/fiscal dimensions.
Experience, Skills Knowledge Required:
- Solid experience in broking and investment management - preferably gained from direct experience with back office broking, or Equity trading desk, support functions.
- Good understanding of the Australian market infrastructure especially the broking and settlement environments
- Good awareness of Australian compliance and regulatory environments, parties practices
- Ability to define / improve operational processes in order to increase efficiency and manage operational risk
- Ability to manage multiple tasks whilst maintaining high quality of output.
- Strong understanding of Australian investment industry and distribution networks.
- Ability to engage with clients in a professional and effective manner - the ultimate aim to support the sales function and bring and retain AUM in the firm.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- PS 146 compliant
- Accomplished user of MS Office especially Excel
- Experienced user of Bloomberg terminals
- Effective team player, capable of building rapport with clients and colleagues
- Demonstrates analytical ability, maturity, and judgement when dealing with institutional clients
- Works well on own initiative and under pressure and comfortable taking primary responsibility for deliverables assigned
