Operational Risk & Governance Controls Manager
Job Duties:
· Evaluating Group Policies across the Functions/Processes to identify the key business process risks, determine the effectiveness of operational controls and drive out remedial actions for improving the business' control framework.
· Provide support in conducting any control design activity required by the business.
· Monitor and ensure regulatory compliance as applicable, for in-scope sites.
· Ensure introduction and implementation of best practices.
· Interfacing with multiple stakeholders across Technology Centres and deputising for the Senior Control
· Environment Manager when appropriate.
· Understanding and exceeding stakeholder/ customer expectations.
· Experience of managing control remediation including experience in planning and scoping aspects.
· Ability to deliver in a multi-cultural and highly challenging environment.
· Knowledge of governance and control, determining control criticality and being accountable for the associated judgements made in relation to any aspect of the control environment. This includes both technical and operational controls.
· Knowledge and experience of 3rd party Controls Assurance.
· In depth knowledge of retail banking operations and the financial services industry in general
· Experience of operating as part of a distributed, global team
· Proven experience in creating and making presentations to senior executives
· Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities with the ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organisation
Skills:
· Strong Governance and Control experience within Financial Services industry.
· Proven Risk Management track record.
· Previous experience of operating in a matrix environment.
· Previous experience of operating with Technology teams or technology related projects
· Proven track record of providing excellent customer services.
· An expert in conducting control/audit/risk management and remediation programmes, preferably within a retail-banking organisation or within the financial services industry more generally.
· Sound understanding of threats, risks, impacts and associated mitigations as they relate to the control environment within a major retail-banking organisation
· Proven track record in assessing control environments and delivering improvements.
· Degree qualified (or equivalent) and/or High Performance track record throughout career.
