Operations / Middle Office (COO progression) -Hedge Fund – 44

The role is working for a multi-strategy hedge fund that is going through a strong period of growth. The current CFO / COO (partner) is struggling to cope with the demands of that growth and now requires an individual to come in and take all operational and front office support responsibilities away from him. In addition to running what is a wide remit, you are also to be the key point of contact for all operational matters and will therefore constantly face off to all areas of the fund in addition to key external stakeholders.

Given the growth plans, we expect the individual to works towards hiring in 1-2 additional heads under him / her next year. You can effectively treat this as an operations manager / middle office manager role. The current CFO / COO has planned that the hire is to take over the COO role ideally in 2yrs time. Despite that we are only looking at junior level candidates that offer the fund great potential as they are treating this as a long term hire as opposed to a short term fix. You will therefore only have spent limited time in a hedge fund operations role, but will be an individual that wants a big challenge, with the aptitude to learn and that has the right personality to face off to a number of senior stakeholders that have been in the hedge fund space for a number of years.

Given that we can only hire at a junior level and that the fund pays aggressive bonuses (50%+ in this role), the client is budgeting for a maximum 55k base salary.
