Position Description:
Cash Management has primary responsibility for visibility, control, governance and reporting of all cash activities across the global Morgan Stanley franchise. With regional hubs located in Asia Pacific, EMEA and Americas, Cash Management comprises c. 100 heads.
Operating in the sense of a true Firm-wide global Utility, Cash Management comprises five core functional business lines to include:
- Liquidity Management (Funding)
- Trade Support Controls
- Cash Transaction Services (Disburse)
- Liquidity Risk Operations (LRO)
- Governance Liquidity Reporting
Key responsibilities include:
This position will report into the Head of Asia Cash Management, and will have the below primary responsibilities:
- Directs and oversees day-to-day production, acts as the point of escalation for production issues and proactively engages with necessary internal stakeholders (e.g. Treasury/Financial Controllers/Operations) and external stakeholders (e.g. agent banks and trading counterparts) to result in resolution. Conducts post-mortem analysis if necessary to identify any strategic action items.
- Escalates to Head of Asia Cash Management and other senior managers promptly and appropriately, according to pre-set escalation triggers.
- Participates in new product and new business approval discussion to ensure process complies to Firm policies and Cash Management's functional readiness to support the business
- Regularly reviews business processes with the team to ensure efficiencies are achieved and controls established are robust
- Owns and leads business and technology initiatives in collaboration with global/regional functional leads in Cash Management, Treasury, Operations, Information Technology and other stakeholders
- Manages team performance, provide coaching and guidance to team members for individual career development as well as team development
- Assists the Head of Asia Cash Management in management agenda, e.g. managerial reporting, risk management, business planning
Skills Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial institutions, preferably banking operations/ treasury/ treasury operations
- Possess people management experience and demonstrate leadership qualities
- Excellent communication skills in English language, both oral and written are essential (requires dealing with international colleagues from a variety of Morgan Stanley departments on a regular basis).
- Self-motivated and have the ability to work consistently and efficiently to achieve goals either as an individual or as a team
- Ability to partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve required results and outcomes
- The successful candidate should be a confident, well-rounded, methodical person with strong analytical skills.
- The successful candidate should have the ability and confidence to identify and raise risks/issues to management, and to suggest solutions to issues, process improvements or highlight gaps and areas of concern.
- Strong PC skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, with exceptional skills in MS Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
